Tortoise Brooches in Bronze from Vaernes Norway. beautiful This version is hand builtTortoise Brooches in Bronze from Vaernes Our Tortoise brooches are closely based on a find from Vaernes, Norway. These are double shell brooches which are held together with the integral domed rivets. The undershell is unusual as it has a triangle and dot pattern stamped around the outer rim. This pair have Bronze wire inlaid and running from each dome to the next. The weight is around 150grams each. Measurements are 90mm long, 60mm wide and 30mm
