Sumi means black ink and e means painting, an art form in which subjects are painted with black ink in all possible gradations, achievable by dissolving ink in water. Real sumi e conveys a simplicity and spontaneity that strikes the viewers sensibility. We think (hope!) that we achieved this here with our original black colorway.
