THE MACALLAN SHERRY OAK 18 YEAR OLD Monastrell The result is a red-purpleThe Macallan has sourced oak from northern Spanish forests since the distillery's early decades, air drying staves and seasoning casks for 18 months in Jerez before they ever see new make spirit. The 18 Year Old Sherry Oak matures exclusively in those hand picked sherry seasoned casks, which the distillery credits with driving up to 80% of the whisky's final character. Bottled at 43% ABV, it pours a light mahogany and delivers treacle tart, stem
